As of June 30th the construction work on the East Caley Avenue Improvements Project at Goldsmith Gulch is proceeding with the removal of the existing vegetation in the channel on the north side of East Caley Avenue. The Xcel electric line relocation work will begin on July 1st and includes relocation of the power pole on the north side of East Caley Avenue and installation of a new electric line on the east side of the greenbelt near the property/fence line.
Beginning next week, the road closure will begin at 7:00 a.m. on Tuesday July 5th and the road is anticipated to be reopened at 5:00 p.m. on Friday July 15th. The section of East Caley Avenue closed is from the parking lot entrance to the Cherry Creek Academy to the intersection of S. Elmira Circle West and during the closure, no pedestrian or vehicle access will be available through Caley.
While East Caley Avenue is closed, a lot of work will occur including relocation of the Comcast fiber optic line, Xcel gas line, water line lowering, installation of the new culvert, then restoration of the road surface in order to reopen the road. Also, concurrently the Cherry Creek Academy is beginning the drop-off lane construction project.
On July 7th the properties located on S. Elmira Circle West and East, East Caley Avenue between S. Elmira Circle West and East, S. Emporia Circle will experience water outages during the day between 7:00 am to 5:00 pm, while the water line work is occurring. Notices will be posted for each property affected beginning July 1st.
